In addition to crying onstage while performing a Michael Jackson tribute at the BET Awards, Chris Brown's tears continued backstage. He told his pal Ray J: "This night saved my life, and my career. Thank you for everything." The men hugged twice before Chris started tearing up once again. An eyewitness told Hollywoodlife.com that Chris's tears were genuine, and he seemed both relieved and elated to have his career back on track. In addition to Jermaine Jackson hugging him and telling reporters that Chris should be forgiven, Chris also beat Justin Bieber for BET's "Fandemonium" award, saying in his acceptance speech: "I let you guys down before, but I promise I won't do it again."

Monica tweeted: "Thank u guys for having my back but I'm not offended at all by that older lady's comment. U must be fashionable to judge fashion." My name is Bennett and I ain't in it.
