Aside from releasing a new Destiny’s Child album, the trio will also reunite on stage for the first time in at least seven years, as part of Beyonce’s Super Bowl half-time show which will take place in New Orleans on February 3. Bey will open the show solo, and will be joined by Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams midway through the set to perform a medley of Destiny’s Child greatest hits as well as a brand new song titled “Nuclear.” The finale will be a new track from Beyonce’s upcoming fifth album which will more than likely makes its’ way online the week of the Super Bowl.

 

Actress Quvenzhane Wallis and Denzel Washington were nominated for Academy Awards. At 9 years old, Wallis is officially the youngest actress in Oscar history to be recognized for her role as Hush Puppy in “Beasts of the Southern Wild” - which also earned nods for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director. The same night as her nomination, Quvenzhane also hit the black carpet at the 2013 National Board of Review Awards Gala in New York City where she received the Breakthrough Performance Actress Award.

 

On February 5, Cash Money Content, the book publishing arm of the iconic record label Cash Money Records, will release “Fly Betty,” from Essence magazine bestselling author Treasure Blue. “Fly Betty” is the latest installment from Treasure Blue’s “Harlem Girl Lost” series of novels which include “Harlem Girl Lost” and “Got It Girls.”

 

Actor/comedian Marlon Wayans capped off a whirlwind press tour in New York City on January 10 by hosting a press reception at the Time Hotel. The A Haunted House writer and star dished on the making of the film, his own ‘paranormal’ experiences and whether he’s concerned about the critics. “I didn’t make this film for the critics,” said Wayans. “I made it for you... the fans. This film gave me an opportunity to do what I wanted to do without someone trying to reel me in.”

 

President Barack Obama’s second inauguration is shaping up to be one of the hottest tickets of the year. Two days after the Presidential Inaugural Committee announced that Beyonce would perform at the official ceremony on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., several other celebs have been added to the weekend’s star-studded lineup. The committee announced that Alicia Keys, John Legend, Stevie Wonder and Usher would be among those on hand at the Kids’ Inaugural Concert on Saturday, January 19, and at the official Inaugural balls on Monday, January 21. Marc Anthony, Nick Cannon and Smokey Robinson are also expected to make appearances.
