Message from CeaseFirePA
Now that the worst of Hurricane Sandy has passed, we can't wait any longer to share this news:
Last week, Governor Corbett signed a bill that will enforce tough minimum penalties for straw purchasers found guilty of buying more than one gun for people who can't legally buy guns themselves. Supporters like you fought for it, and we won.
Without the determined actions of the CeaseFirePA coalition, this might not have come to pass. Pressure from supporters like you helped to move this bill quickly to the Governor's desk – and his signature sealed the deal.
Add your name to our thank you note to Governor Corbett. His signature gives prosecutors a new tool to crack down on straw purchasers.
The bill never would have been signed, if not for the loud voices of support from this coalition demanding action. While Harrisburg doesn't always make the right call on gun laws, we need to show elected officials that we will support them when they listen to law enforcement experts and their own constituents – instead of cynical lobbying from the NRA.
With elections around the corner, it's more important than ever that Harrisburg knows we are vigilant. I hope you'll take a moment and add your name to our letter thanking Governor Corbet, and reminding him that there is more work to be done:

Thank you for taking a stand against gun violence.
