Thomas sponsors Annual Job Fair
Looking for a job? If so, you should check out State Rep. W. Curtis Thomas' annual Private Sector Job Fair being held 11:00AM to 3:00PM, Thursday, October 25 at the William H. Gray Youth Center, 12th & Cecil B. Moore Avenue.
A wide range of private sector employers offering jobs and training opportunities will attend.
Participating employers include Kensington Hospital, Temple University, Emerald Window & Glass Company, Urban League of Philadelphia, Inc., SEPTA, Northeast Treatment Centers, APM, OIC, IKEA, Einstein Healthcare System, Education Works, UPS, PA Board of Probation and Parole, LIFT-Philadelphia, North Philadelphia Health System, Amtrak, Philadelphia Police Department, Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc., Spring Garden Senior Center, PA State Police, Wells Fargo, Horizon House, Jefferson University Hospital, Comcast Corporation and North American Power among others.
"The statistics on unemployed and underemployed residents in Philadelphia continue to be at a record high," said Thomas. "However, we have a wealth of qualified, skilled and talented people who are willing and able to add value to any company or organization."
As always, those who need to brush up on their job readiness skills can partake in workshops before the job fair begins. A workshop on resume writing will be held from 9:00AM to 10:00AM and one on interviewing skills from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Participants should come dressed in business attire and bring plenty of resumes. Free parking is available.
