Rapper Nelly threw his girlfriend Ashanti a surprise party to celebrate the R&B songstress's 32nd birthday at Reign Nightclub in Atlanta on October 13. Her guests included T.I. and Tiny, her parents and her sister. Nelly looked carefree at the bash following drugs being found on his tour bus in Sierra Blanca, Texas last week. However, things could get complicated for Nelly, as his associate, Brian Keith Jones, who initially took responsibility for the massive amount of drugs that included 36 baggies of heroin and 10 pounds of marijuana, pleaded not guilty to felony drug charges when he appeared in court. Jones has since been released from jail.

 

Denzel Washington donned a blazer while attending the premiere of his upcoming flick Flight at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York City on October 14. The Oscar-winning actor, who plays an alcohol and drug addicted airplane pilot in the movie, was joined by his wife, Pauletta, and co-stars Don Cheadle and Tamara Tunie. Flight soars into theaters on Friday, November 2.

 

Film/TV actress Lonette McKee, who portrayed Sister in the original Sparkle, heads the cast of the play "Sowa's Red Gravy," presented at the New Federal Theater in association with Castillo Theater, 543 W. 42nd Street in New York City's Times Square. Written by Diane Richards, the show starts October 18 with opening night set for Sunday, October 28. "Sowa's Red Gravy". will run through November 18.

 

Supermodel Chrissy Teigen arrived to the Harvard Club in midtown Manhattan on October 11 with her fiance, John Legend, to host the Resolution Project's Annual Resolve 2012 Gala. Chrissy turned heads in a floor length silver gown, while John stepped aside and let his fiancee' enjoy the spotlight.

 

Beyonce' was spotted last week arriving at Elio's Restaurant on the Upper East Side of Manhattan to celebrate her friend Gwyneth Paltrow's 40th birthday, in her $1 million dollar customized black mini van. Meanwhile, the superstar songstress has been tapped to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans.
