Alicia Keys, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Valerie Jarrett join OFA-PA to host women Vote 2012 Summit in Philadelphia on July 16
On Monday, July 16, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch Street, 5 PM, artist and activist Alicia Keys; DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz; and senior Democratic strategist Valerie Jarrett will host the campaign's latest Women Vote 2012 Summit in Philadelphia.
This event follows last week's official launch of the national Women Vote 2012 Summit Tour and will bring together senior campaign officials, community leaders and celebrities to discuss what's at stake this election year.
From signing the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act to appointing two women to the Supreme Court to ensuring America's families have access to quality and affordable health care and education, President Obama has proven he is a strong advocate for women and a defender of the issues that are important to them and their families.
That's a clear contrast with Mitt Romney, who is ready to hand over decisions about women's health to their employers, get rid of Planned Parenthood altogether and take away a woman's right to choose. American women know they can't trust Romney and Republicans to stand up for them.
"As a mother and a daughter, I know there is too much at stake in the upcoming elections to sit on the sidelines. I'm excited for next week's Women Vote summit to talk about issues that are important to me and my family," said Alicia Keys.
"In his three years in office, President Obama has been an advocate for us since day one – from making health care more accessible and affordable to ensuring women can fight for equal pay for an equal day's work. He has proven that he has the people in his heart!
