Beyonce' showed up fashionably late to "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations" Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday night, decked out in a sexy, sheer Givenchy Haute Couture gown. Her sister, Solange Knowles rocked a canary yellow Rachel Roy creation.

 

PepsiCo Inc.is going on a reunion tour with the King of Pop. The Purchase, New York-based company announced its deal with the estate of Michael Jackson to use the late pop star's image for its new global marketing push. The promotion will include a TV ad, special edition cans bearing MJ's image and chances to download some of Jackson's most famous songs.

 

R Kelly is back at the top of the Billboard charts for the umpteenth time this week with his smash single "Share My Love" and he's headed to New York City for a July 1 concert, his first Big Apple appearance since 2006. The Queens gig will celebrate the independence of three nations, the United States celebrating 236th, and Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago who are both celebrating 50 this year. R Kelly will be joined by Boyz II Men and reggae icons Jimmy Cliff and Beres Hammond.

 

Film Life, Inc., announced that winners of its 16th annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Star Project are Sherial McKinney of Sherman Oaks, California and Robert Hunter of Cleveland. Sponsored by NBC Universal, this program is an international acting competition designed to spotlight emerging multi-cultural talent. One grand-prize winner will receive a walk-on role on NBC's daytime drama Days Of Our Lives. In addition to the paid trips to the ABFF in Miami, the Star Project winners will be introduced to the festival audience at The Winners Circle Awards presentation on the closing day of the festival. Jeff Friday, founder and CEO of ABFF, states: "I am pleased to provide a platform for fresh, hopeful, talented actors to get exposure. Through our commitment to the Star Project, we will continue to offer our winners opportunities to advance their careers as actors."

 

Two-time Grammy winner Cissy Houston's new gospel EP "Walk On By Faith" was released on May 7 in time for Mother's Day. "Walk On By Faith" is the premiere release from the label Harlem Records NYC, founded by entertainment icon Vy Higginsen. The EP, recorded, mixed and mastered at Stadium Red Studio in Harlem, was produced by Cissy Houston and Vy Higgensen. "I wanted to capture the authentic, unique sound of one of the greatest singers of all time," says Higginsen of "Walk On By Faith.' "Cissy's voice and lyrics have the power to heal and touch all people. I am renewed and inspired by Cissy's courage and faith, and find comfort in her message."
