The North Broad Renaissance (NBR) has announced the appointment of Stephen P. Mullin to its Board of Directors.
“Stephen is an accomplished business leader and an experienced board member in the nonprofit sectors,” states Dr. Kenneth Scott, chairman of the board for the NBR. “The Board is confident that he will add great value and we will benefit from his input, governance and guidance.”
Stephen P. Mullin is a president of Econsult Solutions, Inc., an economic consulting firm based in Philadelphia. His 18-year consulting practice concentrates on state, local, and public finance and policy analysis, economic and real estate development and impact analyses, and business-government strategies. His clients include state and local governments and agencies, businesses, developers, and not-for-profit institutions.
“I am excited to join the NBR Board of Directors to assist Shalimar and her entire team in NBR’s efforts to promote the redevelopment and reinvigoration of the North Broad Corridor,” Mullin said. “Here is an opportunity to make one of America’s most famous urban streets become a showcase for equitable, diverse, and exciting economic activity and reinvestment, and increase the economic opportunities for tens of thousands of residents who live in neighborhoods flanking North Broad, all of whom can benefit from a new North Broad Street for the 21st Century.”
The North Broad Corridor was once considered the “Workshop of the World,” with amazing infrastructures, businesses, arts and culture and a thriving community. Today, the community is ready to re-establish one of Philadelphia’s most prominent corridors as the huge economic driver it’s capable of becoming. A corridor that creates clean and safe places to work and play, booming businesses, employment opportunities and innovation that inspires the entire region.
“Stephen and his team at Econsult Solutions have supported the NBR and our research efforts since the very beginning,” states Shalimar Thomas, executive director of the NBR. “They have been extremely helpful in providing sound research and insight to our economic development efforts, and will help us move the organization towards successful execution of the 2020 Vision and beyond.”
